Hell Week Survived 2

We just pulled through another crunch period to get Chapter 2 finished. It wasn't as grueling as the last one, but working around the clock for extended periods of time does leave you drained and whimpering. The good news is however that sitting on our hard drives right now is a feature complete, fully playable version of Chapter 2.

Sure, it's still a bit rough and buggy in places, but for an early playable it's also surprisingly solid.

In the coming week we'll play test the crap out of it, before turning our full attention to Chapters 3 & 4. We will need some help with the testing, so if you feel like helping us out, don't be shy to give us a shout in the comments section or on our Facebook page. It won't be an open beta like Chapter 1 was (there's only a limited amount of beta keys), but if you're willing to play the game a couple of times and try to break it in whatever way you can, you're A-OK in our books.

In other – slightly related – news, the voting for the IndiePub competition is now over. We hope we win, because it would help us a lot. But, more than that, we hope you had a chance to play some of the entered games!

And if you're wondering why Erik hasn't written in a while, it's due to the fact that he just became a father.

Cheers,

  1. So does this mean WE can play test Chapter 2? I don't see it added to the website yet.

  2. We only need a few play testers. It won't be an open beta like Chapter 1.

  7. I, as the others, would love to play test chapter 2. Since it's labor day weekend, I will have a lot of free time on my hands, so I will have plenty of time to try my best to find bugs. I'm not really sure how you could contact me, since I have no blogspot account and I don't want to expose anything to the general public, but maybe you could just comment to your own post, if you need me.
Thanks for all the hard work you guys do! It really means a lot to the players.

  8. I have a lot of time to try to find bugs and "work" hard to help you. It would be a real pleasure. I don't have a Facebook account or anything else, so I can just give my email, but only in a private way (if I'am actually needed ;) )

  10. I would love to play-test Chapter 2. Chapter 1 was amazing and due to the labor day weekend *as casualgamer stated above* I would have a lot of free time. I know you only have a few "beta keys" so please consider me but choose someone else if they seem like a better candidate.

  13. You probably got my email anyway, Anders, so you know i'd be thrilled to playtest some more. I'll leave it up to you to decide though, no offence taken if i'm left out. I look forward to the day when I can buy the game;-)

Now onto the important stuff that everyone seems to have overlooked: MANY CONGRATULATIONS to Erik and (Mrs?) Zaring. I hope baby and mother are doing well. Was it a boy or a girl?

My sister's expecting her second child in the next two and a half weeks so i'll be an uncle for the third time=)

  14. How much is Chapter 2 going to cost? I don't think I want to test it (ok Chapter one was Beta) because what if I find a glitch? So I rather pay for it.

It just better be a reasonal price, but I hope it is longer then Chapter One. I just hope my parents will buy it, so don't make it $20 for each chapter (I have seen so many games that are so short, they should have been only $5 or free)

  15. Pitlang,

We haven't decided on a final price point yet, but I can assure you it won't be more than $5.

It's hard to say if Chapter 2 is longer until the difficulty of the puzzles have been more finely calibrated.
