Question: I don't like that you're spending time writing progress reports/posting things on Facebook. Why don't you just focus on getting Chapter 4 done?
Answer: I'm glad you ask! We like to communicate with people and make sure everyone knows where we're at. During production of Chapter 3, we mainly focused on getting the chapter done, which ended up with us not communicating with those people who were eagerly waiting. It's a mistake we hope not to repeat.
As strange as it sounds, writing these types of updates also save us time. We receive quite a lot of mails various types of reports, and instead of answering individual emails – even though we do that as well – this general approach is a lot more efficient.
We also regard the blog/Twitter/Facebook as ways of chronicling whatever's going on with the game, so we try to update it as often as we can. Hopefully we'll add a lot more to it in the coming weeks.
Stay tuned!
Cheers,

I really like it more when you write progress reports. While waiting for chapter 3, sometimes I got afraid and thought you had stopped making the game or something. I'm really glad to be able to know what's being done!
ReplyDeleteI also like the progress reports. When I originally bought the game, I didn't realize how labor intensive each episode was and how long we would wait for new content. The progress reports reveal how much painstaking effort goes in, and also keeps me interested in how the game is progressing. Don't stop!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeletei just wanted to say that i loved playing part 1 and 2. I didn't enjoy part 3 though. The wait was too long so that i completely lost the connection to the game and i couldn't be motivated playing through the first two chapters before again. Secondly the lack of information also didn't help.
As a game the episode felt too much after reusing assets. Then there was a fix here, downloading the data again there. I'm sorry to say but after such a long time i expected simply more. I'll now better wait until all chapters are released because otherwise it doesn't feel like enjoyable game. I mean you also don't read the chapters of a book spread over a few years.
This was "ready when it's done" at its worst.
Nevertheless i wish you good luck for the remaining two chapters and hope that all turns out fine.
Bye
